#TECH ME HOME

GOT UNWANTED TECH AT HOME?
Give it to #TechMeHome at the Old Bath House and Community Centre where
we'll pass it on to be rehomed by local charity partners in the Milton Keynes area.

Did you know electrical waste (e-waste) is the fastest growing type of waste in the world (UN)? In fact, in the UK we throw out 100,000 tonnes of e-waste per year, and still have a shocking 880 million gadgets gathering dust at home. Despite having life left in them, many of these electricals are hoarded or chucked out, when we could be redistributing them for reuse within our neighbourhood, and getting more out of these unwanted electrical gadgets.
UNWANTED ELECTRICALS HIDING IN YOUR CUPBOARDS?
As part of a Material Focus funded project, Hubbub are calling for people to dig out their unwanted small electricals and drop off working items at Wolverton community fridge sessions at The Old Bath House and Community Centre, Milton Keynes, taking place on:
  • Wednesday evenings – 18.00-19.30
  • Saturday lunchtimes – 12:30-14.00
  • Repair Cafe MK sessions - 09.30-12.30
    9 December / 13 January / 10 February / 9 March
A team at the community centre will check over donations to ensure items are safe to use and good quality before rehoming them with local community organisations. Any unrepairable electrical items will be recycled responsibly, as anything with a plug, battery or cable contains valuable materials that we can prevent becoming e-waste.

WHERE WILL MY ELECTRICAL ITEMS GO?
We’re rehoming your old electricals with people nearby who need them with the help of:
MK Bus Shelter
YMCA MK
Salvation Army - Lighthouse Project
MK Council (Local Welfare Provision)
Material Focus
Repair Cafe MK
The Old Bath House and Community Centre
